Description:Prison – Tallahassee, FL (BID) (1-2) hospital outpatient pharmacist) General Info: Services will be provided on an as needed basis at the Federal Correctional Institution as well as at the Federal Detention Center in Tallahassee, FL. The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Tallahassee, Florida, is a low security facility housing female inmates with an adjacent detention center that houses administrative security level male inmates. FCI Tallahassee is located 3 miles east of downtown Tallahassee. Facility would like a minimum of two qualified Pharmacists for clearance into the institution to provide services needed. Period of Performance: Date of award – September 30, 2010 (Contract will be written for up to 120 days) Pharmacist will provide coverage during the absence of the institution’s pharmacist, i.e. during vacation, sick leave, training, as well as reassignment. Two week advanced notice will normally be given for coverage during periods of scheduled annual leave, except in the event of unforeseen sick leave. Dress code: Pharmacists are expected to wear appropriate professional attire at all times; jeans (of any color), T-shirts, Hours: Monday thru Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, w/ ½ hour unpaid lunch, excluding Federal Holidays. Duties (include but not limited to): Interpreting medical/dental staff prescription orders. These orders may be the traditional physical prescription or orders taken from entries of the patient’s electronic medical file, entering prescriptions into the pharmacy’s prescription computer system and printing prescription labels, selecting correct medication and filling the prescriptions, inventory of medications and supplies, recording items that are low in stocking levels, and advising the Health Service Administrator and/or Assistant Health Service Administrator of medications that need ordering, interacting with inmates regarding their medications, and providing patient education about medication.
