Clinical Pharmacist Opportunity 13-Week Contract Assignment

We're looking for a skilled Clinical Pharmacist for a rewarding 13-week contract opportunity in Homer, Alaska. This position offers a unique chance to enhance your clinical expertise while serving a tight-knit community in the scenic and remote environment of Homer.
Responsibilities:
- Medication Order Review: Ensure medication orders are accurate and suitable across various hospital departments.
- Sterile Compounding & Verification: Prepare and verify sterile medications adhering to stringent standards.
- Pharmacy Inspections: Conduct pharmacy inspections in clinic settings.
- Clinical Pharmacy Services:
- Acute Care Pharmacy: Medication verification, therapy management, lab reviews, sterile preparation, and discharge counseling.
- Primary Care Pharmacy: Drug information, chart reviews, refill approvals, anticoagulation management, and vaccinations.
- Long-Term Care (Quyanna Care Center): Medication reviews, consultations, and prescription prep.
- Outpatient Pharmacy: Prescription verification, dispensing, counseling, and vaccination services.
- Village Health Services: Assist village clinics with prescription entry, medication oversight, and inspections.
- Collaboration: Work with physicians to optimize drug therapy and improve patient outcomes.
- Formulary Management: Participate in formulary assessments and ensure cost-effective drug usage.
- Education & Mentorship: Guide pharmacy students, educate staff, and contribute to P&T committees.
Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacist License: Any state (Alaska licensure not required).
- Inpatient Pharmacy Experience: Required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of clinical pharmacy experience or 1 year of post-graduate residency in a hospital setting.
- Clinical Pharmacy Skills: Expertise in medication therapy management, direct patient care, and clinical pharmacy services.
