Staff Pharmacist 12-Week Contract with Direct Hire Potential

Position Highlights:

  • Contract Length: 12 weeks

  • Schedule: Full-time (M F), rotating 8-hour shifts within 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM

  • Weekend Rotation: Required, shared among team

  • Common Shift Times:

  • 7:30 AM 4:00 PM

  • 11:00 AM 7:30 PM

  • 12:30 PM 9:00 PM


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense and verify prescriptions in accordance with all legal and safety standards

  • Monitor patient compliance and identify potential risks or medication misuse

  • Provide clear, supportive counseling to patients regarding drug regimens, interactions, and side effects

  • Maintain up-to-date and compliant patient records and pharmacy logs

  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications when required

  • Supervise pharmacy support staff, including technicians and interns

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

  • Ensure efficient inventory management and accurate supply levels

  • Educate patients on device usage (e.g., glucose meters, blood pressure monitors)


Required Credentials and Skills:

  • Active Maine Pharmacist License

  • At least 1 year of pharmacy experience

  • Experience in LTC or mail order pharmacy strongly preferred
