Compounding Pharmacy Technician Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

An exciting opportunity is now available for a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join a specialty compounding pharmacy in Pittsburgh. This 13-week contract-to-hire position is ideal for technicians who are ready to expand their skills across both production and fulfillment areas in a fast-paced, high-quality environment. Full training will be provided, but experience with non-sterile or sterile compounding is highly valued.

Position Details:

• Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday

• Shift options: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM or 11:00 PM 7:00 AM

• Ongoing Saturday or Sunday shifts will be part of the regular schedule

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and compound medications according to established formulas under pharmacist supervision.

• Ensure full compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards.

• Read and accurately interpret prescriptions, entering orders into the pharmacy system.

• Maintain precise documentation, labeling, and record-keeping for all compounded products.

• Support inventory management, maintaining sufficient stock of ingredients and equipment.

• Assist with batch compounding and ensure timely preparation of prescriptions for delivery or pickup.

• Actively participate in training and maintain required competencies for compounding practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of recent pharmacy technician experience.

• Previous experience with non-sterile or sterile compounding required.

• Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) preferred.

• Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician license preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance with pharmacy standards.

• Excellent attendance and reliability are essential for success.
