Day Shift Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Hospital Setting Chicago, IL

Join a fast-paced outpatient hospital pharmacy team committed to high-quality patient care and precision in medication management. We are seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to support day-to-day pharmacy operations on a full-time basis, with a rotating Saturday schedule.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Rotating Saturdays, 9:00 AM 1:00 PM (Thursday off when working Saturday)
This is a 13-week contract position with potential for extension through July.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, label, and dispense medications based on prescription orders

• Deliver outstanding customer service and provide medication-related information to patients

• Maintain proper inventory levels and ensure all stock is stored safely and appropriately

• Assist with insurance billing, prescription processing, and recordkeeping

• Follow all safety and regulatory protocols to maintain a compliant and organized environment

Qualifications:

• Active and clear Illinois Pharmacy Technician License

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a pharmacy technician role (hospital or outpatient setting preferred)

• Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills

• Familiarity with prescription processing and handling insurance claims
