Role Overview:
We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and proactive Director of Pharmacy (DOP) or Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to manage our pharmacy department at an acute care hospital in Monterey Park, CA. This leadership position focuses on overseeing pharmacy operations without the requirement for staffing duties, making it perfect for a seasoned professional with extensive inpatient pharmacy management experience.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Current Team:

  • 2 Pharmacists
  • 3 Pharmacy Technicians

Pharmacy Details:

  • Order Entry System: CPSI
  • Dispensing Methods: Cart fill and night locker (No automation)
  • IV Compounding: Available (No chemotherapy)

Certification Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccination
  • Recent standard drug screen (within 3-6 months)
  • TB screening (within the past year)

Primary Duties:

  • Team Leadership: Oversee and guide pharmacy staff, including recruiting, training, and conducting performance evaluations to foster a skilled and motivated team.
  • Budget & Finance: Develop, manage, and optimize the pharmacy department budget, monitor financial outcomes, and implement cost-efficiency strategies while ensuring quality patient care.
  • Operational Management: Supervise day-to-day pharmacy operations, including medication handling, inventory management, and adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a PIC or DOP.
  • At least 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing pharmacy teams.
  • Proven skills in budget development and financial oversight.
