Full-Time Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician (Long-Term Care) Syracuse, NY (Permanent Hire)

We are seeking Fulfillment Pharmacy Technicians for direct hire opportunities in a high-volume long-term care pharmacy in Syracuse, New York. This pharmacy has recently expanded nearly four times its original size. Ideal candidates will have prior long-term care experience, but experienced retail technicians from high-volume environments will also be considered.


Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, with some possible weekends. (Multiple shifts available.)

  • (2) 2nd Shift: 12:30 PM 9:00 PM

  • (4) 3rd Shift: 2:30 PM 11:00 PM (Eligible for shift differential*)

  • Start Date: ASAP


Responsibilities:

  • Receive drug prescriptions over the phone and in person

  • Accurately and efficiently fill daily drug orders under pharmacist supervision

  • Process returned drugs and recycle/dispose per procedure

  • Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store as needed

  • Package materials and products manually

  • Pull and/or pick medication from shelving and storage areas

  • Apply labels to medication packaging and scan for accuracy check

  • Alert the on-duty pharmacist of any medication/product scanning issues

  • Maintain workstation areas and replenish stock supplies as needed

  • Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA

  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week


Requirements:

  • Pharmacy Technician license preferred but not required

  • At least 6 months of pharmacy technician experience preferred

  • NY does not regulate retail techs; however, a NY license is a plus for those with sterile compounding experience and a PTCB certification

  • Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program is a plus

  • Pharmacy technician certification (PTCB, etc.) is a plus

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Effective communication skills

  • Quick and independent learner

  • Flexibility to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology
