Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM | Saturday Rotation, 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM


POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking two experienced Retail Pharmacists to join our team in Hebron, NE. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes. You will work alongside a dedicated healthcare team to ensure the safe and effective use of medications while supporting the mission and vision of our organization.


SUPERVISION:

  • Reports to: Director of Pharmacy
  • Shift: Days (M-F 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM with Saturday rotation)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy
  • Licensure: Current Nebraska State license to practice pharmacy
  • Experience:
  • Three years of retail experience as a Pharmacist preferred
  • PharmD preferred
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Medication Dispensing: Ensure the accurate preparation and dispensing of medications. Oversee non-pharmacist personnel in the medication use process, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Pharmaceutical Services: Advise physicians on drug therapy, toxicity, side effects, and appropriate doses. Ensure adequate inventory levels of medications and supplies.
  • Patient Care: Provide medication counseling and guidance to patients on the proper use of prescribed drugs. Participate in patient care rounds with physicians.
  • Collaboration: Maintain professional relationships with medical and nursing staff to provide pharmaceutical guidance on therapeutic options, drug compatibility, and regulatory matters.
  • Quality Assurance: Review medication use, evaluate patient compliance, and suggest modifications to optimize outcomes.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure proper storage and security of medicinal products. Maintain inventory in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Education and Mentorship: Mentor pharmacy, medical, and nursing students. Contribute to the education and development of healthcare professionals.
  • Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations, confidentiality standards, and organizational policies.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  • Maintain and promote health practices in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Ensure all duties are performed within the scope of licensure.
  • Demonstrate respect, integrity, and professionalism with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Comply with Thayer County Health Services Compliance Program and participate in required training.

  • Indoor, smoke-free, climate-controlled environment
  • Exposure to unpleasant odors, liquids, chemicals, and bio-hazardous materials
  • Moderate noise level and contact with communicable diseases
  • Potential exposure to hazardous drugs, requiring annual respirator fit testing
