RPh on the Go is actively seeking a Travel Inpatient Pharmacist for a contracted assignment in Montana. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist looking to explore a beautiful part of the country while contributing to a dedicated healthcare team.
Position Overview:
As a Travel Inpatient Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care, including medication preparation, verification, and monitoring for hospitalized patients. You will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in both hospital and retail pharmacy settings, ensuring safe and effective medication use.
- Review, verify, and dispense medications for patients in the ER (7 beds), ICU, OB unit, surgery floor, and med-surg departments.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust patient treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
- Monitor patient responses to medications, adjusting dosages and therapies as needed to optimize outcomes.
- Educate patients and staff on medication therapy, proper administration, and potential side effects.
- Oversee medication inventory, ensuring proper storage, handling, and compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding as needed.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal regulations.
- Occasionally float to the retail pharmacy to assist with patient prescriptions, medication counseling, and daily operations.
- Support pharmacy technicians and provide oversight for medication preparation and distribution.
- Participate in hospital-wide initiatives to improve patient safety, medication adherence, and overall healthcare outcomes.
Shift:
- Hospital: Day Shift: 7:00am - 5:30pm (On call outside of this shift).
- Retail Store Hours: M-F 8:00am-6:00pm & Saturdays 9:00a-1:00pm
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted Montana Pharmacist License
- Experience with EPIC required
- 2+ Years of recent Inpatient Hospital experience
- Availability to work the required shift and on-call hours
- Willingness to start as soon as compliant
- Willingness to travel and commit to the duration of the assignment
