RPh on the Go has partnered with a long-term care (LTC) facility in Detroit, MI, to hire an IV Infusion Pharmacist Supervisor for a full-time, first-shift position (Monday Friday, 10:00 AM 6:30 PM). This role offers a stable schedule, competitive pay, and full benefits, ensuring job security and work-life balance. The position is critical in maintaining compliance, efficiency, and high-quality patient care in sterile compounding operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee IV department workflow, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of IV medications.
  • Supervise and train IV pharmacy technicians, providing performance evaluations and feedback.
  • Manage department scheduling, PTO requests, and staff performance.
  • Ensure strict compliance with USP 797 standards, state, and federal regulations.
  • Directly participate in preparing, mixing, labeling, and packaging IV medications (TPN, antibiotics, and other sterile compounds).
  • Maintain sterile compounding records using Simplifi797 or similar software.
  • Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of IV cleanrooms and sterile compounding areas.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and certification of IV-related equipment and infusion pumps.

Requirements:

  • Active Michigan Pharmacist License (unrestricted, in good standing).
  • Recent IV infusion and TPN experience (within the last two years) experience before 2023 will not be considered.
  • Experience in inpatient hospital or home infusion pharmacy, including sterile and non-sterile compounding.
  • 5-10 years of leadership experience preferred (Junior Level).
  • Strong knowledge of USP 797, aseptic techniques, and IV therapy best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
