IV Pharmacy Technician Job Description
An IV pharmacy tech has additional, essential duties beyond a traditional pharmacy technician. Besides filling, labeling, and monitoring prescriptions for customers, you have IV-specific tasks. These responsibilities include dispensing additives for IV solutions, mixing IV additive products, and adhering to aseptic techniques. You also will be responsible for organizing data and appropriately labeling and filing documents. Customer service is a primary component of your day-to-day routine.
IV Pharmacy Technician Requirements
To obtain your pharmacy technician IV certification, you first need a high school diploma or GED. You also need to be licensed by the state in which you work. Many employers prefer direct experience in a pharmacy setting, as well. To receive the IV certification, you can attend training through the National Pharmacy Training Association (NPTA) or other post-secondary options. You should have strong interpersonal skills, good organizational abilities, and a willingness to work as part of a team.

IV Mixing Pharmacy Technician- Full Time Austin, Texas
We have an immediate opening for a Pharmacy Technician that is available to assist us with a long-term assignment at a Home Infusion facility in Austin, Texas. We are looking for candidates that have at least one year of sterile compounding experience, must have at least one year of working experience in a pharmacy setting in Hospital or Home Infusion. Must have an active TX Pharmacy Technician license.
In this assignment you will be pulling, mixing sterile compounding medication, stocking and labeling just to name a few.
Qualifications:
•One year of recent Home Infusion or Hospital Inpatient Hospital Experience
•Available full time Monday to Friday day shift 8-5pm
•Texas Board of Pharmacy Technician license +IV Certification
•Provide three professional references
