Position: Pharmacy Paralegal
Location: Somerset, NJ (150 Pierce Street, Somerset, NJ 08873)
Setting: Long-Term Care Pharmacy
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Core Business Hours, 40 hours/week
Compensation: $80-85K annually
Reporting to: VP of Legal Team
What You ll Do:
As our Pharmacy Paralegal, you ll play a key role in supporting our legal team and healthcare providers in navigating complex legal and regulatory matters. Your contributions will directly influence how we handle contracts, compliance, medical malpractice, and more. Here s a snapshot of your key responsibilities:
- Collections Support: Drafting demand letters, payment plans, and termination notices for overdue accounts, with the ability to escalate to legal action if necessary.
- Contract Support: Assisting in drafting, reviewing, and ensuring compliance with contracts in line with internal policies and relevant laws.
- Compliance Assistance: Ensuring adherence to HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other healthcare regulations.
- Legal Case Support: Preparing and submitting documents for discovery, responding to subpoenas, and assisting in healthcare-related legal disputes.
- Research: Conducting in-depth research on healthcare laws, regulations, and case law.
- Stakeholder Communication: Facilitating communication with clients and other stakeholders on healthcare-related matters.
What We re Looking For:
We need someone who is detail-oriented, an excellent communicator, and ready to take on new challenges. If you're eager to contribute to a collaborative team and have experience or interest in healthcare, we d love to meet you!
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Legal Studies, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Certification in Healthcare Law is a plus.
- Experience: Experience in healthcare (pharmacy, nursing, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent organizational skills, and a strong communicator. Experience in project management or litigation is a plus.
- Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare laws such as HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid is preferred.
