Oncology Pharmacist - Natchitoches, LA

We are in search of a dedicated Oncology Pharmacist in Louisiana to become a valued member of our team. In this capacity, you will assume a vital role in organizing, coordinating, and supervising administrative tasks pertaining to pharmacy operations. Your duties will encompass the scheduling of pharmacy technician responsibilities, ensuring adherence to processes, and establishing protocols to meet regulatory standards for medication management. Additionally, you will provide pharmaceutical care to patients and oversee pharmacy inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, plan, oversee, and assess administrative functions as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
• Create and execute processes and protocols to maintain compliance with medication handling regulations, encompassing the receipt and storage of medications, inventory management, and expenditure control.
• Supervise the day-to-day duties of pharmacy technicians, monitoring their performance to attain departmental goals. In the event of medication shortages, collaborate with nursing, physicians, and administrative departments to offer alternatives and oversee the preparation of intravenous medications.
• Maintain pharmacist certifications and administer database privileges and access controls for medical records.
• Deliver pharmaceutical care to patients in your role as a staff pharmacist.
• Evaluate and manage pharmacy inventory, place necessary orders, conduct assessments, and ensure an optimal drug supply.
• Identify and secure alternative medications when needed to mitigate risks.

Requirements:

• Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing.
• Mandatory IV experience.
• Preferred experience in chemotherapy.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Fridays offer flexibility for half-days or time off)
