Assignment Specifics:

• Full time
• 13-weeks (temp. to direct hire)
• Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm

Job Overview:

• This pharmacist will be responsible for clinical consultation, drug therapy, training, and communication, and detecting and assessing adverse drug reactions
• The Oncology Pharmacist will be responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and monitoring of medications used throughout the facility
• This person will be expected to sustain an environment for the safe, rational, effective, and efficient use of medications prescribed to patients of all age groups
• Direct supervision of technical support personnel will be required
• Detecting, assessing, and concisely reporting adverse drug reactions and medication errors
• Ensuring the clinical appropriateness of medication prescribing and reconciling and resolving any drug-related problems directly with the prescriber
• Providing drug information, clinical consultation, and clarifications of drug therapy to healthcare professionals
• Effectively utilizes the patient medication profile, pertinent lab data, or other drug monitoring parameters to screen for drug allergies, significant drug interactions, and proper dosage

Requirements:

• Oncology pharmacy experience
• Experience working inpatient hospital settings
• Current and active Louisiana pharmacy license
