Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and compassionate pharmacist for a maternity leave coverage role at a specialty retail pharmacy with 7 locations across the country. This opportunity is for 6-8 weeks, with potential for extension. Our pharmacy specializes in providing medications for complex patients who are on multiple daily medications (8-15), requiring strong communication skills, patience, and in-depth knowledge of top 200-400 drugs commonly found in retail settings.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Must have strong retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience. Experience dispensing chronic and advanced disease state medications (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, MS) is essential.
• Software: Familiarity with Rx30 is a plus!
• Patient Population: You will be working with Medicare/Medicaid patients, including those from low-income backgrounds with a potential low literacy rate. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, consultation, and interpersonal skills to ensure that patients understand their complex therapies.

• Patience and empathy when interacting with patients, particularly those with low literacy
• Specialty pharmacy experience highly preferred
• Ability to manage a high volume of medication information while providing clear, understandable advice to patients
