Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) or Director of Pharmacy (DOP) to lead our pharmacy department at an acute care hospital in Monterey Park, CA. This role will oversee pharmacy operations without staffing duties and is ideal for a seasoned leader with a strong background in inpatient pharmacy management.

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Current Staff:

• 2 Pharmacists
• 3 Pharmacy Technicians

Pharmacy Environment:

• Order Entry System: CPSI
• Dispensing: Cart fill and night locker (No automation system)
• IV Compounding: Yes (No chemotherapy)

Required Certifications:

• COVID-19 vaccine
• Standard drug screen within the last 3-6 months
• TB screen within the past year

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Management: Lead and manage pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure a high-performing and engaged team.
• Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the department budget, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-saving measures while ensuring high-quality patient care.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including medication management, inventory control, and compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or Director of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing a pharmacy team.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets and financial performance.
