Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail 14 days ago Burlington, MA

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacist will ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards while playing a vital role in managing pharmacy services.

Duties:

  • Collaborate on pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Assist with personnel management, training, and maintaining competencies.
  • Oversee remote pharmacy services.
  • Support Formulary Management, including compliance with contracts, interchanges, and shortage management.
  • Coordinate with medical staff on formulary decisions and oversee the pharmacy and therapeutics committee.
  • Manage inventory and distribution systems, including:
    • Pyxis system maintenance
    • Controlled substance tracking
    • Inventory optimization (additions, deletions, returns)
    • Purchasing and inter-department sales
    • Regional support (e.g., EMS)
    • Handling clinic medication orders
  • Adhere to exposure control plans and HIPAA guidelines, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide communication to patients, families, and coworkers through various channels (in-person, written, and telephone).

Schedule/Shift:

  • Full-time position.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Science (required).
  • License: Active Idaho Pharmaceutical License (required).
  • Certification: PharmD Certification (preferred).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in a hospital or clinical setting (preferred).

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Maintain standing or sitting positions for extended periods.
  • Perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds, and pushing equipment.
  • Ability to read charts, dials, and other materials accurately.
  • Work with computer systems and equipment, including keyboards and software programs.
  • May encounter needles, blood, and body fluids during work.
  • Available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Typical interior work environment.
