Staff Pharmacist Contract-to-Hire | 12-Week Assignment
Location: Portland, Maine
Pharmacy Setting: Long-Term Care (LTC), Mail Order Facility

Position Summary:
We re seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to support operations at a long-term care mail order pharmacy in Portland, ME. This 12-week contract offers a clear pathway to full-time, permanent employment for the right candidate. You ll work alongside experienced professionals in a structured, patient-focused environment.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday through Friday

• Rotating 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM

• Weekend shifts rotate among the team

• Shift breakdown includes:
  7:30 AM 4:00 PM
  11:00 AM 7:30 PM
  12:30 PM 9:00 PM

Primary Responsibilities:

• Fill and verify prescription orders for accuracy and compliance

• Evaluate medication use and check for contraindications or therapeutic duplications

• Educate patients on medication usage, potential interactions, and side effects

• Maintain secure, accurate patient records and documentation

• Prepare compounded and sterile medications as needed

• Provide guidance on medication storage and handling

• Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols

• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers

• Monitor inventory levels and manage drug supply orders

Qualifications:

• Must hold an active Pharmacist license in the state of Maine

• Previous pharmacy experience required (mail order or retail)

• LTC experience strongly preferred, but not mandatory
