RPh on the go is seeking a Pharmacy Buyer/Technician for a 13-week assignment in Reno, NV.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Requirements:

  • Valid, clear, and active NV Pharmacy Technician License
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience
  • Sterile Compounding experience required
  • COVID-19 Vaccination (proof required)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receiving Medication Orders: Review and process incoming medication orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Compounding and Dispensing Medications: Measure quantities, count tablets, and create compounded medications as per the physician's prescriptions and regulatory guidelines.
  • Labeling: Ensure proper labeling of medication bottles in compliance with pharmacy standards and regulations.
  • Data Entry: Accurately record required data into the pharmacy management system, maintaining up-to-date patient and medication records.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals to verify orders, clarify medication dosages, and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Emergency Medication Delivery: Ensure timely delivery of emergency medications to patient rooms or care units when required.
  • Sourcing and Purchasing Medications: Source and purchase medications and pharmaceutical supplies from authorized vendors.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels of medications and supplies, ensuring minimal waste. Regularly monitor for expired or outdated prescriptions and manage returns or disposal accordingly.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication compounding, and relevant safety and regulatory standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of medication handling.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-care focused environment.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Organizational skills for managing inventory and sourcing medications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in an inpatient or hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management software and systems.
