Job Description: Long-Term Care Pharmacy Technician

RPh on the Go is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician for a second shift position in a long-term care pharmacy setting. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in long-term care or a related field and be ready to work in a fast-paced environment providing medication services to patients in long-term care facilities.

Shift Details:

  • Shift: 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
  • Rotating weekends required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications to patients in long-term care facilities.
  • Accurately package and label medications in accordance with all applicable regulations.
  • Process prescriptions, including verifying patient information and ensuring accurate medication and dosage.
  • Manage medication inventory, including stocking shelves, checking for expired medications, and placing orders.
  • Maintain patient records and documentation for quality control and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients to resolve prescription-related issues.
  • Assist with other pharmacy-related duties as assigned by the supervising pharmacist.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy technician experience is required.
  • Experience in long-term care (LTC) settings is preferred but not required.
  • A valid New Mexico Pharmacy Technician License is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
