Job Description: Long-Term Care Pharmacy Technician
RPh on the Go is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician for a second shift position in a long-term care pharmacy setting. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in long-term care or a related field and be ready to work in a fast-paced environment providing medication services to patients in long-term care facilities.
Shift Details:
- Shift: 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
- Rotating weekends required
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications to patients in long-term care facilities.
- Accurately package and label medications in accordance with all applicable regulations.
- Process prescriptions, including verifying patient information and ensuring accurate medication and dosage.
- Manage medication inventory, including stocking shelves, checking for expired medications, and placing orders.
- Maintain patient records and documentation for quality control and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients to resolve prescription-related issues.
- Assist with other pharmacy-related duties as assigned by the supervising pharmacist.
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy technician experience is required.
- Experience in long-term care (LTC) settings is preferred but not required.
- A valid New Mexico Pharmacy Technician License is required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
