Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy team in Plainview, NY. This Temp-to-Perm position offers the chance for a permanent full-time role after an initial 13-week contract. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in the preparation, dispensing, and packaging of medications, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced LTC pharmacy environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill and package medications for long-term care patients.
- Ensure proper labeling of all medication containers, adhering to both internal and regulatory standards.
- Use manual or mechanical processes to measure, fill, and dispense medications.
- Stay informed about medication names, terms, and general pharmacy terminology.
- Follow all state and federal guidelines regarding drug dispensing and pharmacy operations.
- Assist with inventory management, restocking medications, and related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Pharmacy Technician, ideally in retail or Long-Term Care settings.
- Previous experience with Long-Term Care Pharmacy operations is strongly preferred.
- Software Knowledge: Familiarity with QS1 Prime Rx and Doctrack is a plus.
Additional Details:
- Work Schedule: Shifts are Monday - Friday with rotating weekends, available in the hours of 11:00 AM 7:00 PM or 12:00 PM 8:00 PM.
- Location: Plainview, NY.
- Start Date: As soon as all compliance steps are completed.
