Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Pharmacy Technician, with a preference for candidates who have prior Long-Term Care (LTC) experience. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in assisting pharmacists with dispensing medications, ensuring the accuracy of prescriptions, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications.
  • Review medication orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain medication inventory, including restocking, labeling, and tracking medications.
  • Provide support for patients and healthcare providers by answering medication-related questions.
  • Work collaboratively with a healthcare team to ensure proper medication management and patient care.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations, including proper medication storage and handling.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, including data entry and documentation.
  • Assist with medication therapy management for long-term care patients (LTC experience is a plus).
  • Ensure the work environment meets health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Current Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician License (Required).
  • Previous Pharmacy Technician experience (Required).
  • Long-Term Care (LTC) experience is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with pharmacy software systems.
  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (e.g., PTCB, ExCPT) is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in a long-term care setting.
