Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Pharmacy Technician IV to join our team for a 12-week contract in a home infusion pharmacy environment.

The successful candidate will primarily focus on IV compounding and other pharmacy-related duties. This position requires proficiency in sterile compounding, along with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sterile compounding of intravenous (IV) medications, including preparation of solutions, admixtures, and other compounded sterile products (CSPs) following standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure all IV compounding is done according to established guidelines for sterility, safety, and quality assurance.
  • Assist pharmacists with the preparation, labeling, and dispensation of medications.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication preparations and compounding activities.
  • Follow all regulatory and safety protocols, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform other pharmacy duties as required, including stocking, inventory control, and assisting with patient care under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Required Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Technician Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a sterile compounding environment, preferably in home infusion.
  • Sterile Compounding Experience: Hands-on experience compounding IV medications, including familiarity with aseptic techniques, USP 797, and USP 800 standards.
  • Illinois Pharmacy Technician License: Current, active license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in Illinois.
  • National Pharmacy Certification: Certification from a recognized national body (such as PTCB or NHA).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a home infusion or hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Familiarity with automated compounding equipment and IV pumps.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
