Job Summary:
RPh on the Go is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This position requires an individual who can support the daily operations of the pharmacy by assisting pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions, managing inventory, and delivering excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities:
Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Ohio state regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding medications, insurance coverage, and general pharmacy services.
Perform data entry for prescription processing, including inputting patient information and prescription details into pharmacy software.
Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and checking medications for expiration dates.
Process prescription refills, assist in verifying patient insurance information, and handle prior authorization requests as needed.
Handle cash transactions, operate the pharmacy point-of-sale (POS) system, and assist with customer purchases of over-the-counter (OTC) medications and supplies.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy work area, including restocking shelves and maintaining records.
Support the pharmacy team in providing medication counseling and other clinical services, such as immunizations, to patients.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all other federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Active Pharmacy Technician license in good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred but not required.
Previous retail pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and prescription data entry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in processing prescriptions and managing inventory.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other state and federal pharmacy regulations.
