Location: Bronx, New York
Shift: Monday Friday 11:00am 6:30pm
Position Overview:
RPh on the Go is seeking a highly skilled PharmD Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and play a critical role in optimizing medication therapy, patient counseling, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Management: Review and dispense medications based on physician prescriptions, ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and adherence to patient needs.
Patient Counseling: Provide expert counseling to patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, drug interactions, and lifestyle modifications to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to review and recommend optimal medication therapies, including performing medication therapy management (MTM).
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations, including New York State Pharmacy Law, FDA, and DEA requirements.
Prescription Verification: Accurately verify prescriptions, ensuring correct dosages, avoiding drug interactions, and detecting potential contraindications.
Compounding: Participate in sterile and non-sterile compounding as needed, adhering to USP guidelines.
Inventory Management: Assist in managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering medications, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring proper medication storage.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, interventions, and prescription fills in the pharmacy information system.
Qualifications:
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited pharmacy school.
Licensure: Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of New York.
Experience: New graduates with residency training or experienced pharmacists are welcome to apply. Retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
Certification: Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification is a plus but not required.
Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Technology: Proficiency with pharmacy software systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, or other EMR systems) and experience with automated dispensing systems is an advantage.
