Shift: Monday Friday 9a-7p and Saturday 9am-5pm
Job Description:
RPh on the Go is looking for an experienced and patient-focused Retail Pharmacist to join our team in Indiana. The Retail Pharmacist will provide exceptional pharmacy services, including the accurate dispensing of medications, patient counseling, and overseeing pharmacy operations. You will work closely with patients and healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication therapy and contribute to improving patient health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately dispense prescription medications and ensure patient understanding of proper medication use, including potential side effects, drug interactions, and contraindications.
Provide excellent customer service by answering patient questions and offering medication counseling.
Verify and review prescriptions for accuracy and ensure compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage patient drug therapies, making recommendations for therapeutic alternatives as needed.
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns in the preparation, dispensing, and management of prescriptions.
Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stocking medications, and ensure proper storage and handling of drugs.
Process and manage insurance claims and resolve any issues related to patient coverage.
Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines.
Participate in medication therapy management (MTM) services and health screenings as needed.
Keep up to date with new medications, pharmaceutical practices, and developments in retail pharmacy.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
Active and unrestricted Indiana Pharmacist License or eligibility for licensure before the start date.
1-3 years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, prescription processing, and retail pharmacy operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in pharmacy management software and technology.
