Shift: Monday Friday, 2nd shift (2pm 11pm), rotating weekends
Job Description:
RPh on the Go is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join our Long-Term Care Mail Order team in Wilkes-Barre, PA. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications to long-term care facilities through mail order services. You will work collaboratively with healthcare providers and internal teams to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and timely medication therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
Review, verify, and process prescriptions for long-term care patients in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Dispense medications accurately, ensuring appropriate dosing, labeling, and packaging for mail order delivery.
Oversee pharmacy technicians in the preparation of prescriptions and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Conduct medication reviews to identify potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and provide recommendations for therapeutic alternatives as necessary.
Maintain thorough and accurate patient medication records using pharmacy management systems.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications to long-term care facilities through mail order processes.
Provide consultation to long-term care facility staff regarding proper medication administration and storage.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, company policies, and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
Stay current with new drug therapies, pharmacological developments, and best practices in long-term care pharmacy.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
Active and unrestricted Pennsylvania Pharmacist License or eligibility for licensure before start date.
1-3 years of experience in long-term care or mail order pharmacy preferred.
Strong understanding of pharmacotherapy for elderly and long-term care patients.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced mail order environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills, with a focus on patient care.
Proficiency with pharmacy management software and technology.
