Staff Pharmacist - Inpatient Hospital (Bel Air, MD)

We are seeking an experienced inpatient pharmacist to join a 150-bed hospital. This is an ASAP start with the potential for contract-to-hire after 13 weeks. The ideal candidate will have experience with Cerner and Pyxis, along with strong inpatient pharmacy skills.

Position Overview:

• Environment: Hospital (Inpatient) - 150 Beds
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Contract-to-hire potential)
• Shift: 8-hour shifts, rotating
• IT Systems: Cerner, Pyxis
• Schedule: Day/evening shifts with every 3rd weekend rotation
• Shift Times:
  • Weekdays: 6:00am 2:30pm, 7:30am 4:00pm, 11:00am 7:30pm, 1:30pm 10:00pm
  • Weekends: 7:00am 3:30pm, 12:30pm 9:00pm

Job Responsibilities:

• Order verification: Ensure all medication orders are accurate and appropriate for patient care
• Pharmacokinetics: Monitor and adjust drug therapy based on patient needs, including drug levels and dosing
• Supervision of technicians: Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient medication distribution
• Controlled substances management: Responsible for ordering and monitoring controlled substances
• Clinical pharmacy duties: Collaborate with the medical team to optimize medication therapy for patients

Requirements:

• Active and clear Maryland Pharmacy License
• Inpatient pharmacy experience required
• Experience with Cerner and Pyxis strongly preferred
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends
