Location: Portland, ME
Practice Setting: Long-Term Care (LTC) Mail Order Pharmacy

Position Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Staff Pharmacist to support a high-volume LTC mail order operation in Portland, Maine. This 12-week assignment includes the possibility of transitioning into a direct hire role based on performance and business need.

Schedule Information:

  • Full-time hours, Monday through Friday

  • 8-hour rotating shifts between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM

  • Weekend coverage will rotate among staff

  • Shift examples:

    • 7:30 AM 4:00 PM

    • 11:00 AM 7:30 PM

    • 12:30 PM 9:00 PM

Responsibilities Include:

  • Dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal law

  • Verify medication orders for accuracy, interactions, and suitability

  • Provide patient counseling on prescription and over-the-counter medications

  • Maintain and update accurate patient medication records

  • Prepare compounded and sterile medications as needed

  • Educate patients on proper device usage (glucose monitors, blood pressure cuffs)

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare providers to ensure optimal therapy outcomes

  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff

  • Manage and monitor medication inventory levels

  • Identify and resolve medication-related problems proactively

Requirements:

  • Current and valid Maine Pharmacist License

  • Demonstrated experience in pharmacy practice (mail order or retail)

  • Long-term care experience preferred but not mandatory
