Job Title: Inpatient Staff Pharmacist

Shift:

• 1st Shift: Rotating start times of 6:30 AM, 7:00 AM, or 8:30 AM (8-hour shifts)
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM start time

Order Entry System: Cerner Med Manager
Automation System: Pyxis

Key Responsibilities:

Medication Management:

• Prepare, dispense, and manage medications prescribed by healthcare providers
• Monitor patient outcomes and adjust medication therapy as needed

Patient Care:

• Collaborate with healthcare teams (doctors, nurses, etc.) to develop and implement medication therapy plans
• Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and legislation regarding the safe use of medications
• Conduct medication safety assessments and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Consultation and Support:

• Serve as a resource for other healthcare professionals on medication-related matters
• Promote quality care and support the hospital's strategic objectives to improve patient satisfaction

Requirements:

• Inpatient Hospital Experience: Required
• Cerner and Pyxis Experience: Required
• Michigan Pharmacist License: Required
