Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician Deerfield Beach, Florida
Duration: Initially 3 months with the possibility of an extension
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, with two shift options:
- 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
Location: Deerfield Beach, Florida
Job Description: As a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician at RPh on the Go, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, compounding, and distribution of sterile medications and IV admixtures. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe and accurate compounding of medications while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including USP Chapter 797.
Requirements:
- FL Tech License: Must hold a valid Florida pharmacy technician license.
- Experience: 1+ years of recent experience as a pharmacy technician in sterile compounding.
- PTCB Preferred: Having certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is preferred but may not be mandatory.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assisting Pharmacist: Working closely with pharmacists to support various pharmacy operations.
- Compounding: Responsible for compounding medications, which involves preparing sterile medications, IV admixtures, or other specialized medications following established protocols.
- Supply Management: Pulling and labeling supplies required for use in the clean room or compounding area.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with USP Chapter 797 standards, which govern sterile compounding practices. This includes maintaining cleanliness, proper aseptic technique, and adherence to safety protocols.
Applicants for this position should ensure they meet the specified requirements and are prepared to provide proof of their Florida pharmacy technician license. Having prior experience in sterile compounding is a significant advantage, but candidates with a strong pharmacy background may still be considered.
