Are you ready for an adventure? RPh on the Go is seeking a dedicated Traveling Inpatient Pharmacist to join a hospital team in Nome, Alaska, for a 13-week assignment. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across various pharmacy environments while enjoying the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Order Verification: Ensure accuracy and compliance for all prescriptions.
  • Sterile Compounding and Verification: Prepare and oversee sterile product preparation.
  • Clinic Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to maintain compliance and safety standards.
  • Rotational Pharmacy Support: Work across multiple hospital pharmacy settings:
    • Acute Care Pharmacy: Monitor drug therapies, verify sterile products, counsel patients, and provide drug information.
    • Primary Care Pharmacy: Conduct chart reviews, authorize pharmacist refills, and offer vaccination services.
    • Long-Term Care: Perform chart reviews, medication consultations, and prepare medisets.
    • Outpatient Pharmacy: Process prescriptions, verify fills, and counsel patients.
    • Village Health Services: Optimize Pickpoint systems, conduct clinic inspections, and support community health aides.
  • Collaborate with physicians to optimize medication selection and usage.
  • Participate in formulary reviews and monitor drug usage and cost effectiveness.
  • Precept pharmacy students, provide staff education, and serve on committees as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Clear and active pharmacist license in any state.
  • Inpatient pharmacy experience is required.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience or 1 year of post-graduate residency in a hospital setting.
