Do you have unneeded or expired medications lingering around in your home? This Saturday, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be hosting its National Drug Take-Back Day to collect unwanted, unneeded, or expired medications free and anonymously.
We at RPh on the Go encourage you to take part in this unique opportunity to safely and legally dispose of unneeded medications such as prescription painkillers and other controlled substance (CS) medications, typically only accepted for disposal with the presence of law enforcement.
More than 4.1 million pounds of unwanted medication have safely been disposed of in previous DEA Take-Back Days in more than 6,000 drop-off locations across the U.S. Check out DEA’s collection site locator, now available online here.
Please contact RPh on the Go Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance Steve Sidell if you have any questions about the DEA Prescription Drug Take-Back Program at [email protected] or at 847.588.7499.
