Travel Pharmacist - Full-Time Contract - Nome, Alaska
RPh on the Go is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Travel Hospital Pharmacist for a 13+ week contract assignment in Nome, Alaska. As a Travel Hospital Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications within the hospital setting. This position involves order verification, sterile compounding and verification, clinic inspections, and working at different pharmacies throughout the hospital. The work environment includes exposure to latex, biohazard, or other harmful substances in a standard clinical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Order verification and processing
- Sterile compounding and verification
- Clinic inspections
- Rotation through different pharmacy locations within the hospital
- Collaboration with physicians on medication selection and usage
- Participation in the formulary review process
- Monitoring drug usage and cost effectiveness
- Adherence to current practice standards
- Sharing preceptor responsibility for pharmacy students
- Providing staff education
- Serving on P&T and other committees when appropriate
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Active and clear pharmacist license in any state
- Inpatient experience
- 2 years preferred or 1 year of postgraduate residency working as a Pharmacist or pharmacist intern, preferably in a hospital setting
- Moderate travel required (between 25% and 50% of the time)
