We are seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy (DOP) for a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity at a respected acute care hospital in Ridgecrest, California.

This leadership role offers the chance to step into a stable Monday Friday schedule, collaborate with an outstanding pharmacy team, and enjoy a beautiful Central Coast location.


Start Date: Must be available to start on 5/26/25.

Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (no weekends or on-call required).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of a well-staffed inpatient pharmacy.

  • Oversee regulatory compliance, policy and procedure development (crosswalk experience preferred), and ensure adherence to all pharmacy regulations.

  • Collaborate with an experienced team of 5 6 pharmacists and 6 7 pharmacy technicians (with additional PRN staff available).

  • Work closely with the hospital s separate 340b team (prior 340b knowledge necessary).

  • Focus on leadership, compliance, and operational excellence no PIC or staffing duties required.


System/Software

  • Order Entry System: Paragon / Allscripts.

  • Automation: Pyxis for automated dispensing.

  • Additional Tools: Pipeline used for remote order entry during closed hours.

  • Regulatory Platforms: Bluesight, MERP, ASP, and Pharmacy Chargemaster.


Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted California Pharmacist license.

  • Previous experience as a Director of Pharmacy in a hospital or acute care setting.

  • Strong background in policy and procedure writing, regulatory compliance, P&T committee involvement, and pharmacy operations management.

  • 340b program experience highly preferred (direct program management not required).

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
