Clinical Pharmacist Job Description
The duties of a clinical pharmacist revolve around optimal patient care. You analyze and fill appropriate prescriptions for customers through reviews of patient histories and diagnoses. Clinical Pharmacist Job Requirements
To become a clinical pharmacist, many employers expect prior experience in the pharmacy industry, along with one to two years of residency. Most states require a master’s degree or Pharm D. in Pharmacology or a related field. You should also possess a current license from the state in which you practice. Full-Time Hospital Pharmacist (Travel 13-Weeks) - Coquille, Oregon
We are seeking a hospital pharmacist for a 13+ week contract-to-hire
opportunity in Coquille, OR.
Shifts: 1st Shift (8:00 AM 4:00 PM)
Software: Cerner and Pyxis
Description of Need:
The pharmacy is expanding and is in the process of building an IV room. While IV compounding experience is not required, it is a plus. The candidate will assist the DOP in managing the pharmacy workload, allowing for improved patient care and efficiency.
Job Duties:
- Review and interpret medication orders for inpatients and outpatients as needed
- Prepare and/or check medications prior to distribution to various offices, clinics, and ambulance services
- Counsel patients being discharged from the hospital regarding medication management
- Inspect pharmacy inventory to ensure drugs are maintained according to departmental policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Clear and active pharmacist license in the state of Oregon
- 2 years of experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting
- Acute care hospital experience preferred
