Pharmacy Licensing in Illinois

Obtaining an Illinois Pharmacy License has multiple requirements. You must pass NAPLEX and MPJE exams and complete 1500 internship hours. You are required to have an accredited degree from a College of Pharmacy. You also must have a criminal background check and submit a medical history. Maintaining your license requires you to complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years. It is possible to obtain a license by endorsement in Illinois by paying a fee.

For those who graduated from foreign universities or are non-US citizens, obtaining an Illinois Board of Pharmacy license also requires you to pass the FPGEE and TOEFL exams, in addition to other requirements.

Illinois Pharmacy Technician License requirements include being at least 16 years of age, having completed high school or being enrolled in high school. Once you have submitted your application and fee, you can then train through a certification program or train under a licensed pharmacist in several key areas. Pharmacy tech licenses must be renewed annually.
