Travel IV Sterile Compounding Clinical Pharmacist in Alachua, FL

This travel opportunity focuses on sterile compounding within a clinical pharmacy role, offering hands-on experience supporting infusion pharmacy patients in a dynamic healthcare environment. The position emphasizes regulatory compliance, leadership, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Schedule:

• Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM 4:30 PM
• 13+ weeks contract to hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and verify physician medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Perform and oversee sterile compounding in strict adherence to USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
• Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations for quality assurance.
• Review patient medication profiles for safety concerns including allergies, interactions, appropriate dosing, and compatibility.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain high standards.
• Maintain cleanroom and aseptic techniques while performing environmental monitoring to uphold sterility.
• Participate in quality assurance programs, medication safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain thorough documentation related to compounding, batch records, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with inventory management including controlled substances and overall pharmacy operations.
• Support development and updating of pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training programs.
• Engage in staff meetings and professional conferences to stay current with industry best practices.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.
• At least 1 year of experience handling hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding according to USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
