Travel IV Sterile Compounding Clinical Pharmacist in Alachua, FL
This travel opportunity focuses on sterile compounding within a clinical pharmacy role, offering hands-on experience supporting infusion pharmacy patients in a dynamic healthcare environment. The position emphasizes regulatory compliance, leadership, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM 4:30 PM
- 13+ weeks contract to hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and verify physician medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Perform and oversee sterile compounding in strict adherence to USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
- Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations for quality assurance.
- Review patient medication profiles for safety concerns including allergies, interactions, appropriate dosing, and compatibility.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain high standards.
- Maintain cleanroom and aseptic techniques while performing environmental monitoring to uphold sterility.
- Participate in quality assurance programs, medication safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain thorough documentation related to compounding, batch records, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with inventory management including controlled substances and overall pharmacy operations.
- Support development and updating of pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training programs.
- Engage in staff meetings and professional conferences to stay current with industry best practices.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.
- At least 1 year of experience handling hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding according to USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
