Provide expert clinical pharmacy support in a home infusion setting, specializing in IV and infusion services for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. This contract opportunity offers flexibility with primarily PRN scheduling and an initial training period focused on their electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process physician orders while verifying insurance benefits to ensure timely patient care
  • Perform sterile compounding in accordance with USP 797 standards and support cleanroom operations
  • Safely dispense medications and infusion-related supplies, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records and documentation
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to optimize workflow and accuracy
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for fellow pharmacists as needed

Schedule:

  • Initial 4-8 days of training on EMR system
  • Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
  • Additional PRN shifts available including coverage needed July 6-10 and July 13-17
  • Shifts run 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on-site in Cambridge, MA

Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum 1+ year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding highly desired
  • Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Strong skills in communication, multitasking, time management, and critical thinking
