An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist specializing in sterile compounding, combining clinical pharmacy services with regulatory compliance and leadership in a dynamic infusion pharmacy environment. This travel position is based in Lake City, FL, offering a 13+ week contract to hire arrangement.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately.
  • Perform and oversee sterile compounding activities in strict adherence to USP <797> and USP <800> standards.
  • Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations ensuring patient safety.
  • Review medication profiles for allergies, interactions, dosing appropriateness, and compatibility.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain high-quality operations.
  • Maintain cleanroom integrity, aseptic technique, and environmental monitoring practices.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives, medication safety audits, and continuous process improvements.
  • Maintain detailed compounding, batch, quality, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with inventory control, controlled substance management, and overall pharmacy operations.
  • Support the development and implementation of pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training programs.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and professional conferences to stay current with industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding, following USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • At least 1 year of recent inpatient hospital experience.
