Home Infusion Clinical Pharmacist - Lynn, MA
A healthcare facility specializing in home infusion therapy is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to provide expert clinical pharmacy support. This role focuses on delivering IV and infusion services for patients with acute and chronic medical needs, ensuring safe and effective medication management in a home infusion setting.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and process physician orders while verifying insurance benefits to ensure accurate service delivery
- Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operational standards in compliance with USP 797
- Dispense medications and infusion-related supplies safely and accurately
- Maintain thorough patient and pharmacy records in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain workflow and quality standards
- Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as needed
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
- At least 1 year of pharmacy experience; 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding preferred
- Strong working knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
- Excellent communication, multitasking, critical thinking, and time management skills
Schedule:
- Initial training on EMR system for 4-8 days
- Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
- Additional PRN coverage needed, including July 6-10 and July 13-17
- Shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on site in Cambridge, MA
