Home Infusion Clinical Pharmacist | Somerville, Texas

A home infusion pharmacy in College Station, TX is seeking two pharmacists to support their specialized infusion services for patients with acute and chronic medical needs. This contract opportunity involves ensuring the safe preparation, dispensing, and verification of infusion medications, while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and pharmacy technicians.

Positions Available:

• Staff Pharmacist Temporary Coverage: Needed from November 1627, 2026 (pharmacy closed November 26 for Thanksgiving).
• Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) Full-Time: Leading pharmacy operations with regulatory compliance oversight.

The ideal candidate may cover the November dates and transition into the full-time PIC role, offering continuity and leadership to the pharmacy team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, process, and verify physician medication orders for infusion therapies.
• Perform or supervise sterile compounding and maintain cleanroom standards.
• Dispense medications and infusion supplies safely and accurately.
• Keep detailed patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and Texas pharmacy regulations.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and manage pharmacist workflow.
• For PIC role: Oversee pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy requirements, maintain policies and procedures, support inspections, and provide leadership to pharmacy staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Texas Pharmacist License in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; home infusion and sterile compounding experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of USP sterile compounding standards.
• Strong communication, organizational, time-management, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
• For PIC candidates: Eligibility to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge per Texas State Board requirements; previous leadership experience preferred.
