Travel IV Sterile Compounding Clinical Pharmacist in Starke, FL

Contract Type:
- Travel position, 13+ weeks contract to hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately
- Perform and oversee sterile compounding in adherence to USP <797> and USP <800> standards
- Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations to ensure quality and safety
- Review medication profiles for safety checks, including allergies, interactions, dosing, and compatibility
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members to optimize patient care
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff, promoting professional growth
- Maintain cleanroom, aseptic techniques, and rigorous environmental monitoring standards
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives, medication safety programs, audits, and continuous improvement activities
- Manage compounding documentation, batch records, and regulatory compliance paperwork
- Assist with inventory control, including controlled substances and general pharmacy operations
- Help develop pharmacy policies, procedures, and provide staff training
- Engage actively in staff meetings and professional conferences
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing
- Minimum one year of experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding following USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
- At least one year of recent inpatient hospital experience
