Inpatient Hospital Director of Pharmacy in Bellevue, OH
This leadership role focuses on directing pharmacy operations within an inpatient hospital environment, overseeing two hospital locations and a team of 32 staff members. The position offers a 13-week contract period with strong intent for direct hire, primarily working weekdays with on-call availability as needed. Familiarity with Meditech for order entry and Pyxis automation systems is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain collaborative relationships with hospital administration, department heads, medical staff, and subordinates.
- Develop and manage budgets, financial reports, and staffing patterns for review and approval.
- Oversee quality assurance programs and ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory agencies including FDA, DEA, and Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
- Lead recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and disciplinary processes for pharmacy personnel.
- Strategically plan departmental growth and align pharmacy services with organizational goals.
- Participate in educational programs for pharmacy residents, students, and allied health professionals.
- Represent the pharmacy department on system committees and in contract negotiations for pharmaceuticals.
- Engage in professional development activities and succession planning.
- Drive pharmacy enterprise readiness in collaboration with senior leadership to address healthcare industry changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution; M.S. or M.B.A. preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of managerial experience in a medical center pharmacy setting.
- Valid Ohio Pharmacy License.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform complex financial and arithmetic analyses.
- Compliance with OSHA, CDC standards, and safety protocols.
- Valid Ohio drivers license and insurable under organizational auto policy.
- Commitment to punctual attendance and workplace safety.
