Hospital Director of Pharmacy | Bolingbrook, Illinois
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) looking to lead operations within a behavioral health hospital setting. The role is based in Bolingbrook, IL, offering a 13-week contract with a Monday-Friday daytime schedule (8am 4pm) plus on-call responsibilities seven days a week.
Key responsibilities include overseeing pharmacy staffing and scheduling, conducting meetings, and maintaining pharmacy operations to ensure smooth and compliant service delivery. Emphasis is placed on clear communication, with regular email updates and monthly one-on-one meetings with the account manager. There is no sterile compounding involved in this role.
This position supports a small team of one part-time pharmacist and one pharmacy technician, with tech support focused on restocking the Omnicell automation systema preferred area of experience. The pharmacy primarily serves psych patients, providing a specialized clinical environment.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois pharmacy license
- Proven pharmacy management experience
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience
- Familiarity with behavioral health or psychiatric pharmacy preferred
- Experience with Omnicell automation systems is a plus
- Strong communication skills and basic financial acumen
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- On-call coverage seven days a week
