Position Overview: As the pharmacy director, you will report directly to the hospital CEO and work closely with clinical leadership to ensure comprehensive management of clinical, operational, staffing, administrative, and financial pharmacy functions. The role demands extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance, drug utilization, and patient care services within the hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation and accurate dispensing of medications across pharmacy operations
- Ensure adherence to The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards
- Lead the Adverse Drug Reaction Program and participate in drug monitoring and quality assurance initiatives
- Develop and implement clinical pharmacy programs annually (e.g., pharmacokinetic dosing, pain management)
- Provide education and training to new employees and counsel patients and families
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement
Qualifications:
- Active Oklahoma Pharmacist License in good standing
- Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the past five years (required)
- BLS certification if mandated by state regulations
- PharmD or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or residency preferred
- At least one year of pharmacy management or leadership experience preferred
- Board Certification and residency completion are strong pluses
