Director of Pharmacy | Columbia, Tennessee
This leadership role centers on driving pharmacy compliance and operational excellence within a fast-growing dermatology-focused pharmacy organization headquartered in Tennessee. The position is based primarily onsite at the administration office in Franklin, TN, supporting multi-state pharmacy locations with a strong emphasis on culture fit and core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage readiness efforts for URAC, NABP/VIPPS, USP 795/800, DEA, and state board compliance requirements
- Develop and implement scalable standard operating procedures (SOPs), compliance workflows, tracking systems, and documentation processes across locations
- Conduct mock audits to proactively identify and address operational gaps and vulnerabilities related to regulatory compliance
- Maintain multi-state licensure tracking and enforce operational compliance standards
- Create and deliver compliance training programs for pharmacy staff
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership to enhance operational accountability and quality assurance
- Drive consistency, structure, and audit readiness across multiple pharmacy sites
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Pharmacist license required; candidates from varied backgrounds will be considered
- Demonstrated leadership experience in pharmacy or related fields
- Minimum of 5 years experience in pharmacy compliance, accreditation, regulatory oversight, or quality assurance strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of URAC, NABP/VIPPS, USP 795/800, DEA, and state board regulations is highly desirable
- Proven skills in building systems, improving processes, and enforcing operational accountability
- Excellent organizational, documentation, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is essential
- Proficiency with compliance systems, spreadsheets, learning management systems, and reporting tools
Location & Schedule:
- Primarily onsite work in Franklin, TN, with limited remote flexibility after onboarding
- Preference for local candidates; relocation assistance may be available for the right fit
- Administrative team works remotely on Wednesdays, offering some scheduling flexibility
- Quarterly travel required to the pharmacy location in Abilene, TX
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM 6:00 PM with no on-call or weekend duties
