Hospital Director of Pharmacy in El Cajon, CA

An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy at a 70-bed Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital in the San Diego area. This contract position offers a chance to lead pharmacy operations and serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the facility. The role requires immediate availability with an initial duration of 13 weeks, with potential to transition to permanent employment.

Location:

• El Cajon, CA (San Diego area)

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Day shifts

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive oversight and leadership of the pharmacy department
• Serve as PIC, ensuring regulatory compliance and safe medication practices
• Manage pharmacy operations effectively to support patient care
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacotherapy
• Utilize RX Connect software for pharmacy IT management

Qualifications:

• Active California Pharmacist license required
• Previous experience as Director of Pharmacy within California healthcare facilities
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations and regulatory standards
• Experience working with long-term acute care populations preferred
