Hospital Inpatient Director of Pharmacy | Great Falls, Montana
Lead pharmacy operations in a dynamic inpatient hospital setting committed to delivering exceptional patient care across multiple specialties including Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), outpatient services, and clinic hospital environments. This contract opportunity (13-17 weeks) offers a leadership role that combines administrative oversight with hands-on staffing within a busy surgical hospital featuring an active emergency department and infusion center.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Director of Pharmacy (DOP) and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), providing both strategic and operational leadership.
- Oversee pharmacy staff, including 6 pharmacists and 4 technicians at the hospital, plus 3 pharmacists and 3 technicians in the infusion center.
- Manage daily pharmacy functions and workflows, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead sterile compounding operations and maintain high standards of safety and accuracy.
- Utilize Meditech for order entry and TouchPoint automation to streamline pharmacy processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care in fast-paced hospital environments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.
- Demonstrated pharmacy management and leadership capabilities.
- Strong expertise in sterile compounding practices.
- Hold or eligible to obtain an active Montana pharmacy license.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
