Director of Pharmacy in Huntington, WV

An interim leadership opportunity is available for a highly skilled pharmacy professional to serve as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) on a contract basis. This key role will support the pharmacy department during a transition period following the retirement of the current Director of Pharmacy.

Location: Huntington, WV
Type: Contract (starting 8/31/26 until permanent hire)
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• On-call coverage after shifts and on weekends

Responsibilities:

• Oversee staffing and administrative duties as PIC
• Ensure smooth daily pharmacy operations and compliance
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to maintain service excellence
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
• Receive onsite training and mentorship from the retiring Director of Pharmacy

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) in a hospital setting
• Familiarity with Omnicell systems preferred
• Valid West Virginia pharmacist licensure is required
• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a commitment to team development and operational efficiency

This contract offers a unique interim leadership role supporting critical pharmacy functions in a hospital environment. Onsite training by the current Director will facilitate seamless transition and continuity of care.
